Ms. Patricia Haigwood serves as Chief of Staff for the Texas A&M Health Science Center Office of the Executive Vice President and CEO. Prior to joining the Texas A&M Health Science Center, Ms. Haigwood served as Chief of Staff for the Texas A&M Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing, a $285.6 million public-private partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Biomedical Research and Development Authority designed to enhance the nation’s emergency preparedness against emerging infectious diseases, including pandemic influenza, and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.
Ms. Haigwood served as Special Assistant to the Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where she was the transition lead for the incoming director and a senior contributor to the agency’s reorganization strategy. She has served as a consultant to DARPA’s Strategic Technology Office through Booz Allen Hamilton, where she directed communications for high profile technology programs and was as senior consultant to the Director of DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office. She was responsible for the development of technology showcases for Special Operations Forces leadership, the House and Senate Armed Services Committee and public affairs strategic planning for the Defense Sciences Office research portfolio of approximately $450 million annually that spanned from fundamental physics to biodefense.
