The OVPRGS is responsible for coordination of administration of all research grants and contracts, including; approval of submission; approval of budget; approval of indirect cost rate; assurance of research compliance; intellectual property issues and material transfer agreements; allocation and distribution of indirect costs; and compliance with reporting requirements of funding agencies.

The Texas A&M University System Office of Sponsored Research Services (OSRS) is a consortium of Texas A&M System members that brings together talents, expertise, and best practices to enhance research administration. The OSRS officially opened for business on September 1, 2011. The office now provides contracts and grants research administration services to those Texas A&M System members based in Brazos County that have sponsored research activity.
