Most campus-based competitive scholarships awarded to TAMHSC students are administered directly by the respective Colleges within the Texas A&M Health Science Center. It is recommended that students interested in scholarship opportunities contact their academic advisor(s) to inquire about application and eligibility. OSFA plays no part in determining recipients or amounts for these awards.
OSFA does participate in the scholarship processing of:
Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students
Scholarship program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in a health professions program, show financial need and be from a disadvantaged background as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Award amounts are dependent on the annual allocation from HRSA and the number of eligible applicants. Disbursement of the aid follows the same schedule as Federal Title IV funds.
TAMHSC SDS applications and funds are limited to students enrolled in the Rangel College of Pharmacy Pharm.D. program. All students in the Pharm.D. program will be notified by their College of the availability of the application and procedures each year after SDS funds are presented to the school (usually during the summer period prior to the awarding year).
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required in addition to the TAMHSC SDS application. Parental information is required on all applications regardless of the students dependency status per Federal guidelines.
Learn more about the SDS program at the HRSA website.
