Registration and Cancellation
For professional programs, registration is coordinated by the Office of the Registrar in cooperation with the college in which the student enrolls. Other programs are eligible for web registration. Tuition and fees are payable in full at the time of registration unless arrangements for installment payments have been completed with Student Business Services.
To be eligible for registration, the student must have been officially admitted as a new student, or officially readmitted following an absence, and must have satisfied all admission requirements, or must be a continuing student. Any student deemed ineligible due to an academic, administrative or disciplinary sanction or hold will be blocked from registration until all sanctions are removed. A hold may be lifted only by the unit that placed the hold.
After registration, the student then retrieves his/her bill on-line, and pays the bill to complete the registration. All registration must be received at least five working days prior to the first class day. The day prior to the first class day, the Student Business Services will inform the Office of the Registrar of those students who have not yet paid their tuition and fees. These students will be dropped from registration for non-payment of tuition and fees. The student must then seek reinstatement immediately. Any student seeking reinstatement after the 12th class day cannot be reported to the State for funding, posted to the class roll or the grade sheet for a course. The student will not receive credit until the Non-Funded Registration form is completed by the student, approved by the Dean, appropriate VP, and the appropriate late fees have been paid.
Cancellation of Registration
A student may cancel registration after payment through the Office of the Registrar without financial penalty if the student does so before the official first class day. The student is regarded as never having registered.
Late registration may be permitted only on the publicized late registration dates and upon payment of the appropriate late fee. Fees are listed on the Student Business Services web site. A student registered at another TAMU campus is not considered as having registered for courses at the Health Science Center.
