Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance (COA) is an estimate of what it costs a student to attend the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC). The COA doesn't just cover tuition; it includes your basic living expenses as well. When awarding financial aid, TAMHSC takes into account your COA. Federal, state and institutional aid cannot exceed this cost. Below are links to the cost of attendance for each of the TAMHSC academic units:

The official cost of attendance (COA) includes the following components:

Tuition and Fees

Tuition costs are subject to change and are determined each year. The actual costs that a student incurs will vary depending upon the student's college and the number of hours enrolled.

Books and Supplies

The average cost of books and supplies for the term specified in the COA chart. Typically includes books, educational supplies, course materials and computer-related expenses excluding the purchase of a personal computer.

Room and Board

A reasonable estimate of what it would cost to live while attending school. Actual costs vary by individual choices related to location and circumstances. Typically includes rent, food, snacks, household supplies and utilities.

Represents travel to and from residence and transportation costs to and from class and work (e.g., bus fare, gasoline, tolls, parking).

A reasonable estimate of costs for clothing, entertainment and other miscellaneous expenses. What you actually spend on these types of items may be higher or lower depending on your own lifestyle. Miscellaneous also includes the average cost to carry and maintain health insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum criteria set by the academic unit.
