Texas A&M University

Since its founding in 1876, Texas A&M University has grown into a nationally-ranked research institution. With 10 academic colleges and more than 45,000 students, Texas A&M continues to rank among the five largest universities in the nation. Texas A&M, like the Texas A&M Health Science Center, is a component of the Texas A&M University System headquartered in College Station.

The Bryan/College Station Community

The HSC-College of Medicine’s location in the Bryan/College Station community offers medical students the opportunity to interact with Texas A&M University students while also enjoying a short commute to four major metropolitan areas: Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. The community currently has more than 137,000 citizens.

Parks & Recreation

Recreational activities are an integral part of the Bryan/College Station community lifestyle. Indoor and outdoor enthusiasts are sure to find an abundance of opportunities, with activities at numerous locations ranging from recreational ranches, museums, theaters, bed & breakfasts, fitness clubs, golf courses, parks and winery.

Arts and Culture

The Bryan/College Station community offers a myriad of art galleries, museums and historical sites that offer residents the opportunity to participate in theater productions, concerts and intellectual dialogues. Texas A&M University’s Opera and Performing Arts Society, MSC OPAS, brings world-renowned symphony orchestras, ballet companies, touring Broadway shows and a children’s performance series to the University each year.

Area galleries and museums include the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley, the Benjamin Knox Gallery, the Texas Gallery, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the MSC Forsyth Center Galleries, the Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center, the Texas A&M Sports Museum, the Carnegie Library, the Cushing Memorial Library, the Texas A&M University Horticulture Gardens and Field Laboratory, and Messina Hof Winery and Resort.

A Great Choice for Smart Living

Ranked as one of the fastest-growing U.S. metropolitan areas, Bryan/College Station offers a first-rate selection of healthcare options, multiple economic benefits and a strong work force. Bryan/College Station also offers high quality public schools and a community college. Bryan ISD currently has 11 campuses recognized for academic excellence; six of those have achieved the Texas Educational Agency’s highest rating of “Exemplary.” College Station ISD has been recognized by the TEA as a “Recognized District.” Multiple private schools in the community also offer exceptional educational opportunities. In addition, Blinn College, one of Texas’ best community colleges, began offering classes in Bryan/College Station in 1970. Bryan’s campus is the largest campus with more than 10,000 students and offers college courses to students in 21 area high schools.
