Emotional Well-being

The emotional dimension of wellness emphasizes an awareness and acceptance of one's own feelings. It means being positive about yourself and your life and involves managing your feelings. It involves:

  • maintaining good mental health
  • striving for a positive attitude
  • having  a strong self-image

All these things can be improved by having close relationships with family and friends. Additional tips to becoming emotionally fit:

  • practice optimism
  • attend workshops or self-help groups
  • learn time and stress management skills
  • read books that provide direction for personal growth
